Who We Are

WeldIndex (“we”, “us”) operates weldindex.com, a directory of welding and industrial gas distributors across the United States. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@weldindex.com.

Information We Collect

We collect information only when you choose to give it to us:

• Quote requests: your name, email, phone (optional), the product you need, and your message. This is shared with the distributor you chose to contact.
• Listing claims: your business name, contact name, email, phone, address, and website when you claim or create a listing.
• Email signups: your email address when you join a waitlist or unlock a report preview.
• Report purchases: your email and payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.

We also use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool that collects aggregate page-view statistics only. It does not track you across sites, does not use cookies, and does not collect personal data.

How We Use Your Information

• To deliver quote requests to the distributor you selected.
• To review and publish listing claims.
• To send you the product or launch notification you signed up for.
• To respond when you contact us.
• To operate, secure, and improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing email you didn't ask for. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link.

Who We Share It With

• The distributor you contact — a quote request is forwarded to that business so they can respond to you.
• Service providers — Cloudflare (hosting and database), Brevo (transactional email), Stripe (payments), Plausible (analytics). Each processes data only to provide their service.
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

Business Listings

Directory listings contain publicly available business information (name, address, phone, website, hours, public Google review excerpts and ratings). If a listing concerns your business and you want it corrected or removed, email hello@weldindex.com and we will handle it promptly.

Data Retention & Security

We keep form submissions for as long as needed to provide the service, then delete them. Data is stored with Cloudflare (US/EU data centers) over encrypted connections. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we limit what we collect in the first place — the best-protected data is data we never asked for.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — whichever state or country you're in. Email hello@weldindex.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. EU/UK visitors: our lawful bases are consent (form submissions) and legitimate interest (operating a public business directory).

Children

WeldIndex is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted on the site.
